We have created the world’s most popular tasting gin by using the world’s most popular flavour.

A bold claim but the key to the flavour was a battle between two 19th century chemists. In 1863 Angelo Mariani launched Vin Mariani coca wine and in 1885 JS Pemberton copied and perfected the flavour using his Original 7X Recipe which would go on to be the world’s most popular drink – Coca Cola.

JS Pemberton is a modern gin with a specific 19th century botanical signature. We used Mediterranean Junipers which do not intrude. We then charged the distillate with the Original 7X Recipe of 1885. The skill is to wrap the earthy bitterness of Coca & Kola in layers of citrus and sweet flavours to harness not disguise. The encircling flavours include vanilla extract, neroli oil, damiana flower, nutmeg, lime, cinnamon and coriander.

The bottle shape allowed us to reprise the coca leaf motif on the label and introduce a Cherette; a visualization of a female muse created by Jules Cheret and used in Vin Mariani posters.
